Health & Safety

Entry points to all school buildings are secured during the school day.  All visitors and volunteers must enter through the main entrance by pressing the intercom and speaking with a secretary.  Visitors are required to register at the front office immediately upon entering the building and provide a state issued photo ID. Visitors are also required to wear a school provided badge at all times while in the building.

Visitor's privileges may be revoked or suspended at any time.

To secure facilities, ensure a safe learning environment, monitor conduct, and enforce school rules, security techniques are used on Monroe-Gregg School District property to include:

• Video surveillance
• Video and audio recording on buses
• Security by school resource officers
• Periodic patrols by Morgan County Sheriff's Office K-9 department
• Drug testing

No one on district property has an expectation of privacy while in common areas including hallways, parking lots, grounds, cafeteria, school buses, gymnasiums, etc.

To be prepared in the event of a natural disaster or any threat to student and staff safety, Monroe-Gregg School District regularly practices safety procedures as required by State law.

• Fire drills
• Tornado drills
• Lockdown & Lockout drills

M-GSD is committed to providing a safe educational environment for all of its students. Bullying is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
