Elementary Cafeteria

Many exciting changes are taking place in the Elementary Cafeteria. 

  • BREAKFAST IN THE CLASSROOM – Breakfast in the classroom will begin the first day of school. Students are to report to the cafeteria to purchase their breakfast. They will then take their breakfast back to their classroom. This enables students to keep up on their morning work and not miss out on any important happenings.  If you do not want your child to participate in breakfast, send a note or email me at dirlamc@m-gsd.org and a notation will be made on their account, otherwise the cafeteria staff will have no idea who has permission to eat breakfast.  Without that note, your child will be served breakfast if they get in the breakfast line.
  • LUNCH NUMBERS – Lunch numbers will have an additional digit added to them because of the new computerized lunch system.  The elementary students will add a 2 before their original number.  For example, if your original number was 1946, your new number is 21946.
  • PRICES –  Elementary Breakfast is $1.25 and Guest/Adult breakfast is $2.00.  Elementary Lunch is $2.05 and Guest/Adult lunch is $2.90.   Extra Milk is $.40 and extras range in price from $.50 to $.85.
  • CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS – Lunch money will be able to be deposited by credit card.  More details will be available at registration and on the school website when they are made available to us.
  • CASH PAYMENTS – Cash and checks must be in an envelope with the students’ FIRST and LAST name on the outside—no nicknames please.
  • EXTRAS – There are a limited amount of extras that are available for students to purchase at lunch.  Grades  K-3 are allowed one extra purchase of frozen yogurt, juice or extra milk.  If you would like your child to able to purchase an extra item, we need a permission slip.  They will be available at registration and sent home the first week of school.  We will need a new permission slip for everyone who is allowed to purchase extra items because of the new computerized lunch system.  Grades 4-5 are able to purchase two extra items and a permission slip is not required.  Please have a conversation with your child about what and when they are allowed to purchase extra items.
  • BACK TO SCHOOL REGISTRATION – Stop by the Cafeteria Table to prepay on student accounts, get your account balance, review your lunch number, or just say Hello!!   You can check purchases on line at  the school website www.m-gsd.org
