Chess Club

Sponsor: Mr. Robin Shields and Mrs. Lisa Weiss

The chess club is a student led club open to third, fourth and fifth grade students. We have a club president and secretary, and they conduct our meetings. The club is designed for all levels of playing from beginner to experienced players. We meet eight times a year (once a month). In the past we have competed with other schools and in tournaments, and we always have our own yearly internal tournament.

State Chess Tournament

Hunter Marsh, James Davidson, Mitchell Piechocki, Thomas Tracey participated in the regional chess competition and have qualified for the state tournament. Sponsors are Robin Shields and Lisa Weiss.

Chess Club Champion

James Davidson, grade 3, was recently crowned the Chess Club Champion. James won a double elimination ournament against other club members in grades 3, 4, and 5.
