Teachers will return on January 3rd for professional development meetings. Christmas Card WinnersDuring art classes the past few weeks, students were asked to draw a picture that would be selected for the elementary school's Christmas cards. 2 winners were selected. They were Rebekkah Bennewitz and Garrett Rowland. Not only did we print their pictures on our Christmas cards, they also received a $25.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble Bookstore from the PTO. Congratulations to Rebekkah and Garrett as well as all the other students who participated.

Elementary CafeteriaMany exciting changes are taking place in the Elementary Cafeteria! For more information, please go to the cafeteria website by clicking here! Student InsuranceThe school district does not provide any type of health or accident insurance for injuries incurred by your child at school. If you are in need of additional coverage or if you do not have insurance, we have an option for you. Please check out the link below for more information. Reading BuddiesWe have started a new reading fluency intervention that is called Neurological Impress Method. It is a simple intervention that involves a “Reading Buddy” reading with a student for 5 minutes, 4 days a week. We are in need of adult “Reading Buddy” volunteers. We need volunteers who are able to volunteer at least once a week for at least ½ hour. If you have more than ½ hour we have plenty of spots available. Training takes approximately 5 minutes. Please contact Mrs. York at 996-2246 ext 4210 or at yorkm@m-gsd.org if you are interested in becoming a “Reading Buddy”.
