MES PTO Meeting Minutes for Nov. 7, 2011

Those in attendance:  Marty Vaughn, Bethany Brown, Tanessa Barber, Brenda Kennedy, Melissa Phillips, Amy Cox, Tisha Kivett and Tammy Everett

Review of event/activities since October meeting:

1.  Popcorn Friday:  Home Bank in Martinsville made a donation to MES PTO which will allow them to sponsor Popcorn Friday the rest of the school year.

2.  Trash bag distribution was successful.

3.  Spirit Cup fundraiser kicked off and will run through Nov 14th.

4.  Box Tops Contest allowed for $1450.00 donation to the Media Center.  Mrs. Keefer's class won the ice cream party and will celebrate this Friday.

Budget:

October income:  $1221.60

October expenses:  $1550.02

Balance:  $9800.00

New Business:

1.  Bingo Night:  Friday, Nov 11th @ 6:00 pm.  Doors open at 5:30 pm.  Volunteers have been contacted. Lots of great prizes and silent auction items.  Concessions available for purchase. Book Fair and Great American Bake Sale to coincide.

2.  Chicago Bus Trip:  Saturday, Nov 12th. Depart @ 7:00 am.  Seats still available. 

3.  Santa Shop Set Up:  Mon, Nov 21 and Tues, Nov 22.  Amy Cox, Brenda Kennedy and Julie Nagel to set up.  Flyers to go home next week. 

4.  Santa Shop: Tuesday, Nov 29 - Fri, Dec 2.  Assigned class shopping times.  Volunteers still needed.

5.  Popcorn Friday:  Dec 2 and Jan 6, supplies current

6.  Will contact our "Santas" to deliver indoor recess items the last week of school before break.

7.  Need to set a date for PTO Board to shop for indoor recess items and delivery date.
