Overview of September and October PTO Events:

1. Pep Session is Friday, Sept 16th. Susan Williams and Julie Nagel are co-organizers. A banner will be available for all elementary students to sign.  Spirit awards will be given for the best Monrovia pride dress and spirit. One award will be given forgrades  K,1,2 cluster and one award for grades 3,4,5 cluster. 

2.  Tailgate Party is Friday, Sept 16th 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm.  DJ, food for purchase, games, face painting, bounce house, spirit merchandise for sale.  All elementary students get in free to football game with a paying adult. No student will be admitted without being accompanied by a parent.

3.  Rock N Rollers Skate Party is Saturday, Oct 1st 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Advance sale tix available soon. This year we will have a dedicated admission line for all advance sale ticket purchasers.  This will speed up getting into Rock N Rollers.

4.  Popcorn Friday is Friday, Oct 7th.  Marty Vaughn will contact each volunteer in advance for that date.  Due to the awesome number of volunteers that signed up for Popcorn Friday, we will rotate volunteers each month. You may not get called each month. This will ensure that all volunteers get an opportunity to work Popcorn Friday.

               Approved the following: 

                        a.  Mrs.  Keefer- Eggspert (to be used in small groups to review stories, tests and spelling). 

                        Amount:  $49.99

                        b.  Mrs. Honkomp- stickers, 18 shaped notepads, 24 containers play-doh, 5 plastic shower curtain liners. (to be used for reading reward, teaching reading minutes, used to make letters and words, play game with bean bags) 

Amount:  $126.00

                        c.  Mrs. Clements- 12 sheets of magnet paper (for popcorn words) Amount:  $155.88

                        d.  Mrs. Weiss- Math Club Intermediate and Advanced kits (used for centers and remediation) 
                        Amount:  $137.50

                        e.  Mr. Shields- The Great Big Book of Fun Math, Grades 3-4 I Have, Who Has set and Intermediate
                        Plus game set. Amount:  $135.40

    **** Per Mr. Sampson, all items purchased for teachers by MES PTO will become the property of Monrovia Elementary.  It  is intended that computer games, kits, etc will be able to be utilized by all teachers unless licensing requirements forbid it. *****

 2.  A Christmas Shopping Charter Bus Trip to Chicago and surrounding area is being planned for Nov. 5 or 12.  There will be a fee TBD.  Snacks, games, raffles, and a fun time. More info to come very soon!
