Support Reading in Our Schools
School libraries are very important to our students. They support the curriculum as well as provide opportunities for recreational reading for our children. Here are some ways that you can help each of our school libraries:
- Box Tops for Education: All three media centers collect Box Tops for Education coupons. Each coupon is worth 10¢ to our libraries, making this a great fundraiser for our libraries.
- Recycling Ink and Toner Cartridges: The Middle School and High School Media Centers collect ink and toner cartridges for recycling. Collection boxes are in both libraries. Money earned from this activity is used to purchase books and materials to support reading incentive programs.
- Book Fairs: Keep your eye out for flyers announcing the Book Fairs hosted by each school. These are excellent opportunities for you and your children to purchase quality books, and they provide free books and fundraising for our media centers as well.
- Amazon and Barnes & Noble Wish Lists: Donating a book to the school library is a wonderful way to celebrate your child’s birthday, remember a loved one, honor a special teacher, or commemorate any special occasion. Online shopping makes it very easy to select books from Wish Lists maintained by the MMS and MHS libraries.
