Miscellaneous Information:
As a child, I was never encouraged to go to college. When I graduated from high school, I started working, got married and had a family. Your children can tell you, I have had a lot of occupations! I have worked for Ameritech, a couple of family businesses and HomeBank (to name a few). For a few years, I stayed home with my sons and have also been involved with numerous volunteer opportunities which have added to my interesting life experiences.

In 2003, I was visiting high schools speaking on behalf of HomeBank and found I really enjoyed that aspect of my job. In 2005, I was offered a position as a classroom aide and soon realized I wanted to “be” the teacher. I enrolled in college and graduated in 2011 at the age of 47 with a degree in elementary education from IUPUI.

Having recently experienced college myself, along with raising 2 (now adult) sons, I know what it takes for a child to be successful in school and eventually in the workplace. As a teacher, I realize that I am not only teaching math and social sciences, but life lessons that will help my students shape their futures.

My husband and I have been married for over 30 years. Our oldest son (IU/2010) works in sales for his dad at our 4th generation family business in Martinsville. Our younger son and his wife (both Purdue/2013) are both engineers and live in northern Indiana. I love reading, traveling, technology and spending time outdoors. I am usually spotted walking or running around Martinsville with my workout partners.
